Bio for Krista Penner

Krista Penner serves as Director of Network Leadership Development at Northwest Seminary, where she is passionate about identifying and nurturing the next generation of ministry leaders across the Northwest networks.

In this role, Krista provides strategic leadership to develop robust pastoral pipelines—from youth through graduate levels—ensuring that emerging leaders receive the mentorship, training, and support they need to flourish in their callings. She works closely with network leadership development directors, mentors, and ministry partners to create pathways that transform potential into impactful ministry.

A skilled communicator and engaging speaker, Krista is known for her ability to connect with diverse audiences—whether addressing students at orientation events, training mentors in online sessions, or speaking to pastors and ministry leaders. Her expertise in content delivery shines through in her public presentations, one-on-one coaching conversations, and the compelling storytelling she uses to cast vision and inspire action. She has a gift for making complex leadership concepts accessible and actionable, equipping others to grow in clarity and confidence in their calling.

Krista's work spans the full spectrum of leadership development: recruiting and onboarding talented leaders, designing and executing training events, building strong mentor communities, and collaborating with pastors and camp directors to identify promising students. She is deeply committed to mentor excellence, believing that transformative relationships are at the heart of developing leaders who will serve the church faithfully.

As a key contributor to Northwest's PROPEL project, Krista focuses on partnering to build sustainable pastoral development pipelines that will strengthen churches and communities throughout the region. Her strategic approach combines relational warmth with results-driven planning, ensuring that Northwest's leadership development initiatives have a meaningful and measurable impact.
